Christina "Fanny Pack" Larue

The past events of this weekend inspired me to do a little blurb on fanny packs. Stylish or not? I think when most people think of fanny packs they think of  leather, bulky 1980's fannies.  Now 20 years later big designer names such as Louis Vuitton and Chanel are making sleek fanny packs for all. I believe that with the right outfit a fanny pack can look chic and practical!

Now if you are like me or Christina Larussa and can't afford the Chanel or LV, there is always a solution. You can grab an old clutch bag and add a strap to it. A great strap idea is an old belt. It is sturdy and can be adjusted to fit all different hips. You can attach the clutch by looping it through the inside of the clutch and sewing the belt to the material inside.

Two cheap options both from Urban Outfitters

Secret Treasure of H&M

I really believe that these earrings are the best kept secret in H&M! I bought my first pair back in 2008 and have been rockin' them ever since. The original collection only featured the black studs and were priced at $1.50. Now the collection features four different styles and they are $3.95. The fourth one is always something fun. This recent pair I bought on Saturday came with a spunky, dotted pair. My best friend likes to call them the "fancy pair"! I can not rave more about these earrings. They are great for the daytime and nighttime. You can always pair them with a long or short necklace, or a great colored scarf. The options are endless.

One side note: People have mentioned  the stud falls off the metal in the back. I have figured out a solution to fix this problem. All you will need is some krazy glue and patience! I have glued a few pairs in the past. They are as good as new after the glue!

All in a days work! New Essie nail polish "Going Incognito"
So Saturday night I decided to experiment with my hair and a new place. The hair was a take on Shirley Temple and the place was R2L.  Starting off with the hair. I have always wanted a white girl fro! I think what I love most about the concept of curls are there wildness! I used sponge rollers (which are a blast from the past). I remember my mother setting my hair every holiday or special event just so I could have an updo! AH, what a lady I was!!! They were super easy to apply. I washed my hair in the morning and let it air dry. When it was damp I clipped my hair into sections and started the rolling process. I left them in for about 8 hours. Now some people would have hid in their houses for that time period, but I had errands to run! So I just threw a scarf around my head (going for that "tribal look") and went about my business. The curls were in til this morning. Unfortunately, I get a little crazy after awhile of not brushing my hair, so I had to wash them out :( Bit of advice: Do not try and brush those curls out. I just used a ton of conditioner and most of the knots came out easily.

Saturday night's outfit was a little naughty and a little nice. The curls and lace made me feel like an innocent girl. The leather and high heels made me feel like 1920's vixen. I was definitely diggin' the combo. The girls and I headed to R2L which is located in Liberty One Place on 37th floor. The place was very swanky (!) and the view was breathtaking! We decided to get a small high top to scope out the men situation. Lots of wine. Lots of laughs! All in all, a great night with great people and of course, a great outfit!

I Dream of Sheer

Don't you just love wearing a long, flowy maxi dress or skirt? Don't you just hate not being able to show a little leg? Solution! The half sheer maxi dress or skirt! I know it is somewhat "I Dream of Genie", but I think it is a great way to look a tad sexy in a long dress. The last picture is a skirt available on Forever 21. A great alternative to the pricey ones above it. I can picture this garment walking on the beaches of Mexico or hailing a cab in NYC!

The Black Widow

For my Friday night look I was inspired by Kourtney Kardashian.
I love wearing all black and a drastic lip. I feel like it is a very powerful, "Girl On Top" look. I know that this outfit may look expensive, but it's not! It's a bunch of separate pieces that came together perfectly.

Dinner and A Movie

A few nights ago I was going out with a friend for dinner and wanted to wear something fun. I was searching my closet when I came upon my DIY studded leather vest. I made it a while back for the Lady Gaga concert and totally forgot I had it. It was an old Target leather jacket that I loved so much, but unfortunately after time, the leather was starting to fade. I decided to cut off the sleeves and make it a Gaga-licious vest! After cutting the sleeves off I started the studding process. The studs were inexpensive (15 cents each) and very easy to apply onto the vest. The process took me about an hour and a half. I can definitely say I was impressed with how amazing it came out!

New Year. Old Outfit

I have a love/hate relationship when it comes to New Year's Eve. I always seem to wrestle with so many emotions on that particular day. A part of me hates knowing another year has passed by. Another part of me gets crazy excited because I get to dress up! When it comes to dressing on NYE, I never hold back. I love finding the most glitzy attire possible for this special night! In years past I have worn (not all at once) a gold beaded bolero jacket, a wine colored lip, and a black feathered cape. I love looking outrageous on each New Year's Eve.

This year I decided I was not going to purchase anything new. I have a tendency to purchase massive amounts of cocktail attire, but I never wear it! Shopaholic. So I decided to dive into my closet to find an outfit. I bought this Bebe dress a year and half ago for the VMA's. I have a horrible problem with wearing something twice. Shopaholic. I have been getting help with this issue and I have made progress in the past year. :) Though I am not a huge Bebe fan, (some of my former high school classmates would beg to differ. Bebe/Keds) this dress is awesome!!!!! I love the beaded top, the fringe, and the red bodice. I feel like a modern day flapper in it! I topped off my look with a Forever 21 necklace, mohair peep-toe pumps from Steve Madden, and a vintage black clutch. The outfit came out just how I had hoped! The only thing I did purchase was a much needed manicure!~

My First Post!

Welcome everyone to my first fashion blog, The Lioness. The Bitch. And The Wardrobe! I am super excited to finally start this and have a place where I can express everything I love about fashion! Fashion has always been a huge part of my life ever since I was a little girl. I remember being four years old fighting with my mother that I needed to wear stocking, a dress, and gloves to preschool everyday.Little Marisa loved being in a big, frilly dress with patten stocking, ruffled socks, patten leather shoes, and of course, lace gloves! I guess you could say that was the beginning of my obsession with fashion. Now I don't wear a dress everyday, but I still do enjoy looking my best each and every day.

What I plan on doing on The Lioness. The Bitch. And The Wardrobe is to tell you, the readers where I get all my fashion items and inspiration from. I feel like everyday someone is asking me where I got my shoes or my necklace. People are always asking me "Is that the new (item) by (high fashion designer)?" and most of the time it's Forever 21 or H&M!! I want to give my readers an inside view of my closet and all the fun goodies inside it! I will also be posting trends for each season, must have items, and places to visit. So I think I rambled enough on my first post!? Enjoy the website and thanks for visiting!!!!!!!!!!
